Something about this story just doesn’t hold any water for me.

Boise, Idaho– Just after nine Saturday night, police received a report from a man who says he was mugged at gun point in downtown Boise.

The alleged victim was at 13th and Fort Street when he was approached from behind.

Reports show, the suspect claimed to have a shotgun and demanded the victim’s phone and wallet.

In an unusual twist, the man recognized his attacker.

“Well he identified the suspect. He was familiar with who the person was. Gave us a home and where he believed the person lived. Officers were the area at that time, saw a person walking down the street who matched the description,” said Chad Wigington, with the Boise Police Department.

24 year old, Douglas Pineo, was arrested and has been booked on a felony robbery charge.

Questions I have:

    • Who uses a shotgun to rob someone on the street?
    • Did the officers see the man carrying a shotgun when they saw him walking down the street?
    • If the ‘victim’ knew the ‘attacker’ well enough to know where he lived, then I would think the attacker would have known the victim well enough to recognize him walking down the street?
    • Why wasn’t Mr. Pineo booked on armed robbery charges? Do the police doubt the ‘victims’ claims of a shotgun?
  • I think there is more to this story.
