I’ve been looking for a house. Even though the economy isn’t doing well and it is showing in my paycheck, I figure now is the best chance for me to get a house that will fit me for the price.

There are some nice houses out there for the price. Many of the houses have dropped their prices. Houses that were out of my price range a couple of months ago are now dropping into my price range. I’m very excited.

I went out looking today and found 5-6 houses that are very nice and very nicely priced. However, when you get inside sometimes that is a different story. I went to a house last week down off of Desert st. From the outside the house looked okay. It had plenty of yard with it. About .40 acres or around there. When you walked in the musty smell was very noticeable and one of the back rooms smelled of urine. the kitchen seemed like it had been painted one too many times and the washer and dryer was in the family room in a small closet.

Anyway, I’ll keep looking and for those interested, I’ll keep you updated.

Found out the other day that they (whoever they are) are putting in cameras that will determine a cars speed and then take a picture of that car if it is speeding. Then the lucky driver will get a speeding ticket in the mail.

Funny thing about this whole thing is this. NOBODY SPEEDS ON EAGLE ROAD. I drive it almost every day. Everyone goes about 5-10 mph below the speed limit.

System is supposed to be up and running by Nov 1, 2008.

Yesterday I went down to Boise Computer over on Overland road, not far from Edwards Theaters and picked up a new laptop. Its a nice computer and I got it at a decent price. The computer isn’t the subject, though. What I am wondering is, is it legal for me to use the wireless connection that I’m picking up here at my home? It is a belkin54g Wireless connection that is unsecured.

My argument is that if the connection isn’t protected then it may just be that the owner of the connection intends for it to be used publicly. I’m pretty sure that is what they call a ‘hotspot’. Now, on the other hand, I live in a completely residential area. The nearest business of any kind is the Jacksons about 5 blocks away. So, my counter argument is that the connection is more than likely coming from someones home and is not intended for public use.

I have a Cableone internet connection that still goes to my old computer and I’m considering getting a wireless hookup for my whole system. But, now i’m concerned that someone else might just do what I’m doing and I’m also concerned about security. Would they be able to access my computer as well? Hmmm. Something to think about.

Anyway, this whole blog entry was published using someone elses WiFi.

The snow is predicted to fall for the next 7 plus days. I can’t believe it. After the last few years we are finally getting back to a normal winter. This is a bit disappointing in another way, though. I was really looking forward to the global warming getting rid of winter. I guess I’ll have to move if I want that to happen.

On another note: I heard on the news yesterday about that poor woman who was 9 months pregnant and then killed in a head-on collision. I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t be moved by hearing that.

I’m browsing the web today. Going through my bookmarks to read some blogs I haven’t read lately. This one blog… which I can’t remember at the moment… has a Youtube video posted about an ebay scammer. Everyone knows that there are scammers on ebay. You just have to use a little common sense to get around them. Others, however, are openly deceptive and honest people fall prey.

The following video is about one of those scammers. Her name is Kelly Filkins. I tried to find out where she lives and what her husbands name is, but I couldn’t dig up that info. Of the two, the husband is the smarter. They both are dumb, but the wife (Kelly) is the dumber of the two. She actually shows up to court to defend her position. She didn’t just show up to court. She shows up to Judge Judy on NATIONAL TELEVISION to defend her position. The husband decided to stay home to watch the kids.

Here is the video:
