Just Voted

I just voted and fully expected to stand in line for an hour or two. I didn’t stand in line for anything. I walked in, registered, got my ballot, voted, turned it in, and then walked out. From the time I left my house to the time I got back home took about 25 minutes.

Nice, I say.

Now go vote.

What a low low low blow.

This site isn’t about politics. It really isn’t about anything at all. It just gives me something to do now and then.

Well, I ran across this news story today and just had to post about it.

Democrats give out opponents Social Security Number.

Democrats in Boise, Idaho are pretending they’ve done nothing wrong, as Democrats are wont, wide-eyed in amazement that anyone would question their morality after they produced a political mailer that gave out the Social Security numbers of a political opponent in a 1st Congressional District race there.

I found a house

I’ve been looking for houses for a while now. I’ve seen about a hundred and none have done anything for me. Actually, not true. There were a couple just blocks apart and I had to decide ‘tween the two. The one I chose is an older home from the early 60’s it is off of Cole and Ustick. It is a brick home with a good sized yard. When you walk into the place you get a comfortable feeling. The floors are all hardwood and it has a fireplace. The kitchen is just about the right size.

I close on the 26th and am very excited as this is my first home. I think this is a house I will be in for a long long time.

House Hunting

I’ve been looking for a house. Even though the economy isn’t doing well and it is showing in my paycheck, I figure now is the best chance for me to get a house that will fit me for the price.

There are some nice houses out there for the price. Many of the houses have dropped their prices. Houses that were out of my price range a couple of months ago are now dropping into my price range. I’m very excited.

I went out looking today and found 5-6 houses that are very nice and very nicely priced. However, when you get inside sometimes that is a different story. I went to a house last week down off of Desert st. From the outside the house looked okay. It had plenty of yard with it. About .40 acres or around there. When you walked in the musty smell was very noticeable and one of the back rooms smelled of urine. the kitchen seemed like it had been painted one too many times and the washer and dryer was in the family room in a small closet.

Anyway, I’ll keep looking and for those interested, I’ll keep you updated.

Winter Wonderland

The snow is predicted to fall for the next 7 plus days. I can’t believe it. After the last few years we are finally getting back to a normal winter. This is a bit disappointing in another way, though. I was really looking forward to the global warming getting rid of winter. I guess I’ll have to move if I want that to happen.

On another note: I heard on the news yesterday about that poor woman who was 9 months pregnant and then killed in a head-on collision. I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t be moved by hearing that.

Broadway Bar

I’m gonna head over to the Broadway Bar tonight.

See ya there.

Restaurant reviews.

I’ve restarted this blog several times. The last time was a couple of months ago where I wiped out everything and started over. I wanted to get more people involved, but not many were interested. Okay. I can deal with that. In the end it is better that way cause I’m a bit wishy washy on stuff. I still wouldn’t mind having contributors but that is another article.

Anyway, to the point. Before I wiped everything out I used to do restaurant reviews of hamburger joints. I would take a picture and then write up a little something about it. Its fun. Today, I’m going through my Blogroll to see what other Boise sites are doing and I see THIS. Boisee.com is doing it. They aren’t doing a review, just taking a picture and posting it which is kinda cool in itself. Now I’m thinking I need to go back and do that too. I had fun doing it so it should be fun again. I’ll go beyond hamburgers, even though they are one of my favorites. BTW, the hamburgers down at the Main Auction aren’t too bad. Not gourmet, but they beat a Sonic Burger hands down.

Boise Blogger meet up

Don’t be shocked faithful reader… or two. I am posting 2 posts on the same day. How much more exciting could this blog get?

Reason for post: This guy here wants to meet up with Boise bloggers and these guys over here are going to get something going as well. Seems the latter have done it before and feel the need to do it again since the first guy is going to do it. I’m gonna go along just for the ride. Should be interesting.

Tim Woodward Sighting

I’m sure that Tim Woodward can be seen in many places around Boise. Well, I haven’t seen him anywhere at any time. I’ve seen that John guy from the radio down at Warmsprings Golf Course… I heard him first actually. He has an unmistakeable voice. Back to what I was saying. I’m at the Post Office holding my parcel which I am wanting to send away to Virginia. A guy about 3 people ahead of me turns around and scans the crowd behind him. I look at him and think nothing about him. Well, later on I’m at the head of the line and this guy is just finishing up with his business. He goes to leave and all of a sudden all the employees seem to know this guy. “See ya, Tim.” “Still running, Tim?” etc…. Which causes him to turn and face the counter… it was at that moment I noticed something about his profile. I know this guy I’m thinking. Is that Tim Woodward? I ask the lady behind me. She says she thinks so. I commented on how people never look like you imagine them. She then says that is why she never includes her picture in campaign ads. She then added that she was a politician. Do I now have a duty to ask who she is? Is there some sort of etiquette involved when someone is trying to let you know they are somebody you should know? I don’t know. I was next in line and happy to be there. I didn’t ask who she was but I was a bit curious.

Tim left without incident.
