A DUI on a Segway?

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

Does a Segway count as a motor vehicle? Apparently so because the Boise Police ticketed 53 Year old Richard Kober for DUI on a Segway.

Police say that at first they didn’t know if a Segway fell under Idaho law for driving under the influence.

Segways are electric-powered machines that a person propels by leaning in different directions.

Police eventually decided the machine did fall under DUI laws and issued a ticket.

When I was caught operating a Vehicle under the influence do you think they gave me a ticket. Hell, no. I got hauled away to jail. I should have been driving a segway home.

Earl Hanson is not a smart man.

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

Turns out that Earl Hanson was driving his pickup… DRUNK, one evening and runs into Stephen Craig. As it turns out, Stephen Craig is a Sheriffs Deputy who happened to be driving his Sheriffs car at the time. In the back seat was an 18 year old DUI suspect.

Tim Woodward Sighting

Friday, October 19th, 2007

I’m sure that Tim Woodward can be seen in many places around Boise. Well, I haven’t seen him anywhere at any time. I’ve seen that John guy from the radio down at Warmsprings Golf Course… I heard him first actually. He has an unmistakeable voice. Back to what I was saying. I’m at the Post Office holding my parcel which I am wanting to send away to Virginia. A guy about 3 people ahead of me turns around and scans the crowd behind him. I look at him and think nothing about him. Well, later on I’m at the head of the line and this guy is just finishing up with his business. He goes to leave and all of a sudden all the employees seem to know this guy. “See ya, Tim.” “Still running, Tim?” etc…. Which causes him to turn and face the counter… it was at that moment I noticed something about his profile. I know this guy I’m thinking. Is that Tim Woodward? I ask the lady behind me. She says she thinks so. I commented on how people never look like you imagine them. She then says that is why she never includes her picture in campaign ads. She then added that she was a politician. Do I now have a duty to ask who she is? Is there some sort of etiquette involved when someone is trying to let you know they are somebody you should know? I don’t know. I was next in line and happy to be there. I didn’t ask who she was but I was a bit curious.

Tim left without incident.

Larry Craig named to Hall of Fame

Senator Larry Craig was named to the Idaho Hall of Fame of Saturday night. I doubt it was for keeping his promises.

Why you should be at the corner of Eighth and Main

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Tomorrow, Thursday, October 18th… 3 PETA members will be doing what PETA members do. They take off their clothes hoping to make a meaningful statement.

Lying naked in coffins decorated with flowers and holding signs that read, “I Wouldn’t Be Caught Dead Wearing Animal Skins,” three PETA members will expose the cruelty of the fur, leather, and wool industries in Boise tomorrow. Other members will hold signs reading, “Wear Your Own Skin–Let Animals Keep Theirs,” and will hand out leaflets asking residents to cross all animal skins off their shopping lists.

See ya there.
